Daheng Imaging Image Sensors

Daheng Imaging works close together with the main sensor manufacturers in the industrial machine vision market, like Sony, OnSemi and Sharp. As a result, Daheng Imaging has a broad portfolio of camera's with different image sensors, making sure you find the right camera and image sensor for your application.

Sony

Sony Semiconductor Corporation develops, designs, and fabricates semiconductor products in the Kyushu region, Japan. The company offers CMOS and CCD sensor for mobile, security and industrial applications. The company also operates fabrication plants in Kokubu, Oita, Nagasaki, and Kumamoto, Japan. While Sony has announced EOL for the CCD sensors, they have been highly innovative in CMOS technology. Current CMOS sensor produces better image quality then CCD sensors. An overview of sony sensors can be found here.
Daheng Image uses several sensors of Sony. All Sony CCD sensors are not available for new indesigns. Current sensors available for new indesigns are:
  • IMX174, 1920x1200, 168fps, 1/1.2", Global shutter, CMOS
  • IMX178, 3088x2064, 60fps, 1/1.8", Rolling shutter, CMOS
  • IMX183, 5496x3672, 19fps, 1", Rolling shutter, CMOS
  • IMX249, 1920x1200, 41fps, 1/1.2", Global shutter, CMOS
  • IMX250, 2448x2048, 79fps, 2/3" Global shutter CMOS
  • IMX252, 2048x1536, 125fps, 1/1.8", Global shutter, CMOS
  • IMX264, 2448x2048, 36fps, 2/3", Global shutter, CMOS
  • IMX265, 2048x1536, 56fps, 1/1.8", Global shutter, CMOS

On Semi

ON Semiconductor is a leading manufacturer of semiconductor-based solutions, offering a comprehensive portfolio of energy efficient industrial image sensors. The company's products help engineers solve their unique design challenges in automotive, communications, computing, consumer, industrial, medical, aerospace and defense applications. ON Semiconductor operates a responsive, reliable, world-class supply chain and quality program, a robust compliance and ethics program, and a network of manufacturing facilities, sales offices and design centers in key markets throughout North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific regions.
In 2014 On Semiconductors has acquired both Aptina Sensors and Kodak Truesense. The Aptina sensors and Kodak Truesense sensors are now separate product groups within the OnSemi group. Onsemi latest innovation is the Python series. A complete overview of sensors can be found here.

Sharp

Sharp Corporation is a Japanese and Taiwanese multinational corporation that designs and manufactures electronic products like CCD image sensors. It's headquarter is in Sakai-ku, Sakai. Since 2016 it has been an integral part of Taiwan-based Foxconn Group. Sharp employs more than 50,000 people worldwide. The company was founded in September 1912 in Tokyo and takes its name from one of its founder’s first inventions, the Ever-Sharp mechanical pencil, which was invented by Tokuji Hayakawa in 1915.
As of 2013, Sharp Corporation is the tenth-largest, by market share, television manufacturer in the world. In Japan it has been a long-time leader. Sharp has at times also been the most popular mobile phone brand in the Japanese market, but is currently third biggest.
For image sensors, Sharp was always the cheaper alternative compared to it's competitor Sony. The technology of Sharp was slightly behind the technology of Sony and most sensors have optical similarities, like pixel size. While Sony has stopped development of CCD sensors and production is phasing out, Sharp has still invested in CCD technology. As a result, the latest version Sharp CCD's are better then the last version of Sony CCD's. Furthermore Sharp has announced to continue the production of CCD sensors. As a result, the new camera's with Sharp CCD sensors can easily replace the older Sony CCD cameras, because the same optics can be used and the Sharp sensor is faster and more light sensitive.
Daheng Imaging has implemented the following sharp sensors:
  • Sharp 030, 656x492, 120fps, 1/3", Global shutter, CCD
  • Sharp 130, 1292x964, 30fps, 1/3", Global shutter, CCD
  • Sharp 5M, 2448x2048, 10fps, 2/3", Global shutter, CCD
