Monochrome Camera

Monochrome cameras, also known as black and white (B/W) cameras have still a lot of potential in many applications. While the security market and mobile market tend to focus on color imaging, the industrial, ITS, medical and life science market often uses the benefits of monochrome cameras. Monochrome cameras are very sensitive, deliver sharp images and reduce data compared to color, making it ideal for image processing. Using the right color light source and filters for the camera, a monochrome camera plus light system can use the characteristics of the product to create high contrast and high resolution images.  

With I/O

The USB3 camera I/O, uses and 8 pin HR25 hirose connector, that is standard used in the industrial machine vision market. It has 1 input that can be used to hardware trigger the camera. The output of the camera can be used to trigger the light source, for example an LED. Additional, the camera has 2 GPIO, general purpose input / outputs that can be programmed using the SDK. The Sharp 130 1/3” Progressive Scan CCD  with 1.3MP resolution is the ideal replacement for all cameras with a Sony ICX445 sensor that are EOL. Both sensors have the same pixel size so the optical system can stay unchanged. Thanks to  iSHCCD II, the Sharp 130 is even more sensitive then the Sony ICX445 sensor that has HAD CCDII technology. It improves NIR and overall sensitivity thanks to microlenses and pixels with a thicker photoelectric region. Typical applications are: Replacement for EOL Sony ICX445 CCD camera, Machine Vision applications, ITS (intelligent traffic solutions)
